Are you wondering what the heck Esther Abraham-Hicks means by Get Into the Vortex

It sounds so intense and sci-fi. I imagine outer space and getting sucked by a gigantic tornado-like force.

I admit I was a bit skeptical when I first encountered her work years ago. And on top of everything, she channels a group of non-physical entities named Abraham. Hold on, what?

I’d like to think I’m open-minded, so I wasn’t entirely closed off to the idea, but IS this shit real?

Abraham and channeling aside, and yes, her language is one-of-a-kind. But once you warm up to her teaching style, the Vortex is a pretty easy concept to grasp and actually makes a ton of sense.

So c’mon, let’s talk about how to get into the Vortex, Esther Hicks’ style!

What is the Vortex by Abraham-Hicks?

The Vortex is Esther Abraham-Hicks’s concept for vibrational alignment with Source Energy or God. It is positive, high-frequency vibrations such as love, joy, peace, bliss, gratitude, passion, excitement, appreciation, and more.

She describes it as an energetic environment of well-being with non-resistance to what is and what you ask for is always given—a place where your lovers reside and where there is vitality, answers, and clarity.

The Vortex is a swirl of feel-good emotions and mindsets that we all carry within us and can cultivate and expand on.

Why Should You Get Into the Vortex to Manifest?

Getting into the Vortex allows you to create a sense of ease, flow, and trust as you create (or recreate) your life.

Esther Abraham Hicks’s teachings draw upon the natural laws of the Universe, one of them being the Law of Attraction and the second the Law of Vibration

The Law of Attraction states that “like attracts like,” and you attract what you are, not what you want. You magnetize people, places, situations, and objects of matching vibrational frequency into your life.

If you are in constant frustration, fear, lack, and complaining, you draw more of that vibration into your field.

For instance, most people get into the Law of Attraction to attract a lover

She explains that the lover is already in your Vortex, but most of us are out of the Vortex (vibrational alignment with Source Energy); by The Law of Attraction, your desire (lover) cannot magnetize in.

So, the work, which is the foundation of manifesting, is to get into the Vortex of high-vibrational energy. In this specific lover example, you’ll want to get into vibrational alignment with love.

How Do I Know if I’m in the Vortex?

You’ll know you’re in the Vortex when you are relaxed, calm, peaceful, and at ease, and trust your manifestation is on the way.

The main way to know if you are in the Vortex is by checking in with your vibrational frequency—your feelings, thoughts, and beliefs.

Here are some emotional states to describe the Vortex:

  • Blissful
  • Living in the present
  • Relaxed and calm
  • Whole and complete
  • Grateful
  • Joyful
  • Excited
  • Optimistic
  • Passionate
  • Appreciative

What To Do When You’re Out of the Vortex

Don’t worry if you are out of the Vortex. We all move through various emotional states throughout our day and lives.

The main thing you want to notice is your predominant emotional state. Are you mostly grateful and enjoying your life, or angry and frustrated? If the latter, there are many ways to alchemize your energy and raise your vibration.

Below I listed 4 powerful ways to help you get into the Vortex when you notice you have exited the Vortex.

4 Powerful Ways to Get Into the Vortex

1. Study Esther’s Emotional Guidance Scale

The first way to enter the Vortex of high-vibrational energy is to study the range of human emotions. Thankfully, in her book Ask and It is Given, she created an Emotional Guidance Scale.

I’ve piggybacked on her work and wrote an article explaining the Emotional Guidance Scale and how to use it for manifesting.

It might sound rudimentary, but most people don’t take the time to study the range of emotions and learn how to use them to navigate life.

She discusses at which point your emotions bring you in an upward versus downward spiral and how to easily navigate up the scale of emotions if you are in a downward spiral.

Knowing your feelings well is the key to powerful manifesting and the foundation of manifesting practices. Highly recommended for serious and newbie manifestors to read.

Oh, and I call it study, but it’s quick and won’t take long.

2. Raise Your Vibration

Knowing what your external manifestations mean to you and how to raise your vibration is essential when manifesting with the Law of Attraction.

Raising your vibration can be a long-term game or a short-term game, depending on your situation.

For instance, going through a traumatic breakup versus having a lousy workweek. The traumatic breakup will undoubtedly take longer, so know that raising your vibration is a process.

I created an in-depth article on 27 powerful ways to raise your vibration. Keep it in your back pocket as it is incredibly useful for when you are feeling low and need to recenter and refocus your energy to enter the Vortex.

3. Positive Affirmations

Another powerful and most straightforward way to get into the Vortex is positive daily affirmations.

Affirmations can turn a negative limiting belief into a positive mindset. It takes a little work and effort, but it works. Day by day, you’ll notice the change.

If you are new to the world of affirmations and the thought of it feels weird, don’t worry. Most successful people had to affirm or use some form of positive thinking to break through their internal limitations and blockages.

I’ve created different affirmations for various areas of life below. You can even learn how to write your own personal affirmations for your specific concerns.

4. Focus on What You “Want” and Not What You “Don’t Want”

As per Abraham Hicks, most people focus on what they “don’t want” and not what they “want.” (Hi!) After a series of setbacks, I lived in fear, and all I could talk about was what I didn’t want.

So, if this is you right now, it’s okay. It happens, especially if you’ve experienced losses and repeatedly felt disappointed.

Whenever you catch yourself, notice the energetic vibration behind your “I don’t.” It is generally backed by a fear of something harmful or hurtful ever happening again.

This “want” versus “don’t want” concept has been explained spiritually by LOA teachers and scientifically by neurolinguistics NLP practitioners, known as negative commands.

Your subconscious mind is connected to the Universe (or consider it the Universe.) It is your past, internal programming, and it is manifesting and driving your life.

Additionally, the Universe doesn’t judge; the Universe reflects and delivers your predominant assumptions

The Universe cancels out “I don’t” and “I want” and delivers the operative thoughts and vibration backing your thoughts.

So turn the “I don’t want” to “I want.”

For instance: “I don’t want a toxic relationship.”

Change it to a Vortex thought: “I want a loving and healthy relationship.”
